About the Net House

Net houses are framed structures of steel pipe, angle iron or wood, covered in UV-treated polyethylene net.

They give a partially controlled environment: the net reduces light intensity and protects plants from sun damage. Net houses are naturally ventilated.

Standard construction uses CCA-treated poles 3.6 m high on a 6 m x 6 m grid, covered in 20%, 40%, 60% or 70% agricultural shade net.
